"Breeding Appaloosas for Colour, Conformation, Congeniality and Characteristics"
t was 1998. Our truck climbed to the top of yet another hill on a ranch in Southwestern Saskatchewan. We were eager to catch a glimpse of the herd we had come to see. Finally. There they were, down in a draw lazing by a small pond. The stallion raised his head and came forward to see who we were. The mares called their sleeping babies to their sides and our love affair with Appaloosas began.
e purchased that small band of broodmares and brought them home to Alberta. They represented over 25 years of selective breeding and boasted the bloodlines of Dari Maid, Buffalo Bill, Warren's Straw Man, Echo's Bud, Go Bay Go and Ima TopQuestDandy.
n 1999 we purchased our first Appaloosa stallion Middy's Top Dandy, (Ima TopQuestDandy x Top Quest Middy) from Robert Masse and Heather Anderson at Top Quest Farms. "Spike" has proven to be a wonderful stallion for us. He is passing on his congenial temperament, conformation and colour.
n the fall of 2005, we moved our farm and breeding operation to British Columbia and now reside east of Enderby at Mabel Lake.
e have always had a love for horses and now there is a special place in our hearts for the Appaloosa, with their turbulent history and their fight for survival as a breed.
e are dedicated to preserving the past and building for the future. Our commitment is to produce beautiful, good minded, versatile, athletic horses, with strong Appaloosa genes.
